The technicians at North Sound Mold Solutions will not simply show up with a towel and some cleaner, we and been trained and will follow guidelines set forth by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and any third-party Industrial Hygienists (IH).
We further have state of the art equipment and tools to help us and help you get rid of your mold problem. Some of the tools we may employ during a remediation project are:
Infrared Thermal Imaging Devices
These handheld devices are highly sensitive to temperature changes which reflects energy through the lens allowing our technicians to see those slight temperature differences (Delta T). The cameras can be used to scan rooms and structures and narrow our focus. They DO NOT detect moisture, but when used with other tools listed here, we can find and locate a suspected moisture problem quickly. Our technicians have been further trained and certified in Infrared Thermography to better help you!
Moisture Meters:
A moisture meter is a handheld device that can scan and penetrate a materials surface (wood, drywall, etc.) or can have probes attached to drive deeper into a material to determine its moisture content relative to a dry state. These tools can be used on their own to scan an area, or in conjunction with our Infrared cameras. The depth and amount of moisture can lead us to a source, and help determine if materials can be salvaged, dried, or must be removed.
.
Moisture Sensors:
A moisture sensor is less precise than a moisture meter and will have probes or sensors on the end that penetrate materials like carpeting to tell us if something is wet or dry.
Thermal Hygrometer:
This meter helps us measure temperatures, humidity, dew point and other metrics we need to determine problem areas, how to establish our remediation procedures and if things are drying.
Air Movers/Scrubbers/Drying Systems:
In order to get an area dry we need to move air in the location. This is done with high powered fans, and the air is controlled using HEPA filtered Air Scrubbers and possibly the use of drying systems if materials will remain in place. Some of these machines do create noise, but for us that is the sound of progress!
Vacuums:
We will use special sealed type HEPA vacuums during our cleaning and removal process to help capture spores and remove them from surfaces. These are not your typical Dyson or Bissell but have more power and contain large filters that capture dust and debris down to .3 microns (trust us that is small!)
Chemicals:
If needed we will use approved, safe chemicals to treat and help in removing the mold from the area. We want our clients, family, friends, pets etc. to feel safe after we leave and there are many safe and effective products available to a remediation company. We will discuss all of these in detail with each client to ensure they understand why, what and that you feel safe with our chemical plan.
